Unpainted block will turn dark gray when wet
Look for white or dark outlines on your basement walls. This usually means that it’s either leaked before, or substantial moisture has come through in that area.
A few other helpful hints:

- A painted wall will show discoloration, or darkened paint
- A poured wall might show discoloration
